Word Tips

Tip: If your company name is long and you’d like a shortcut to save some time, try this shortcut. Select Tools, AutoCorrect (AutoCorrect Options in Word 2002). In the Replace: box enter an abbreviation (like DCG for Data Communications Group) and in the With: area type in Data Communications Group. Then click Add. When typing DCG, once you press the spacebar beyond the initials, the custom dictionary will automatically replace your shortcut (DCG) with Data Communications Group. This AutoCorrect function will also be usable in Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Excel Tips

Tip: If multiple columns or rows have been hidden from view in a particular spreadsheet, as long as you have the rights to do so, select the first hidden column or row, then select the next hidden column or row (example column A, column L) and select Format, Column, Unhide to unhide all the columns between A and L.

Windows XP Tips

Tip: If you would like to have the Quick Launch area available on the Taskbar, you can add it in by selecting Start, Control Panel, then Taskbar and Start Menu. Select the Taskbar tab and check the box next to Show Quick Launch.

General Tip: If you have more than one document open in certain applications you can save or close them all at once by holding down the SHIFT key before selecting File from the Menu Bar. This changes the SAVE and CLOSE commands to SAVE ALL and CLOSE ALL.
