| SQL: Fundamentals of Querying Learning Outcomes: • Connect to the SQL Server database and execute a simple query utilizing data presented in the lesson lab with accuracy. During this first level course, students will learn what SQL is and how it can help them query a database to answer business questions. During this course, students will connect to a database, query the database, modify the query and then save and execute the saved query. You will search using a simple condition; compare column values, search using multiple conditions, search for a range of values and null values and retrieve data based on patterns. Perform date calculations, calculate other data and manipulate string values. Sort and group data; filter the grouped data and summarize grouped data. Combine results of two queries; retrieve data by joining tables, check for unmatched records, and retrieve information from a table using joins. Customize and save the query result and generate an HTML report. Class targeted to: Students needing to learn how to use SQL statements to query a database. Prerequisites: Windows: Introduction or equivalent knowledge.
SQL: Advanced Learning Outcomes: • Accurately perform a query with sub queries utilizing information in the Lesson Lab. During this one-day second level course, students will learn how to perform advanced queries and add, update, and delete data, tables, views, and indexes. SQL: Advanced During this Advanced level the student will s earch based on an unknown value and on multiple unknown values. Compare a value with unknown values. Search based on the existence of records. Generate output using correlated subqueries. Filter grouped data within subqueries. Perform multiple-level subqueries. Insert, modify and delet data. Create a simple table and a table with constraints. Add or drop table columns. Add or drop constraints. Modify the column definition and delete tables. Create a view, manipulate data in views and modify and drop views. Create and drop indexes. Rollback transactions and commit transactions. Class targeted to: Students enrolling in this course should understand the basics of querying a database with the SQL command language. They should be comfortable issuing SELECT queries against one or more tables and understand query concepts, such as joins. Prerequisites: SQL: Fundamentals of Querying or equivalent knowledge.
