Learning Outcomes:

• Discuss the necessary steps to successfully manage a project.
• Effectively exchange project plan data with other applications
• Accurately update a project plan based on information provided in Lesson Labs
• Correctly create custom reports to extract data from project information.

This second day in the series will build upon the knowledge gained in the previous class and will give you the opportunity to work with a project plan once it has entered the project implementation phase.

• Import a Task List from an Excel File into a New Project Plan
• Export Project Plan Cost Data into Excel
• Copy a Picture of the Project Plan Information
• Update a Project Plan by entering, viewing and splitting tasks
• Managing Project Costs
• Create a Visual Report
• Re-use Project Plan Information
• Create and Assign Resources and a Resource Calendar

Microsoft Project 2007 Level 2

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Exchange project plan data with other applications. Copy a picture of the project plan information. Enter task progress and overtime work, split or reschedule a task, filter tasks, set an interim plan, create a custom table and custom report. Update cost rate tables, group costs, link documents to a project plan. Create and customize a visual report and create a visual report template. Create a project plan template, create a custom view, make custom views available to other project plans, share resources, and create a Master Project.

Class targeted to: This course is designed for a person who has an understanding of project management concepts, who is responsible for creating and modifying project plans, and who needs a tool to manage those project plans.

Prerequisites: An understanding of project management concepts and Microsoft Project 2007 Level 1.
