Learning Outcomes:

• Correctly use a variety of editing techniques as demonstrated in the Lesson Lab.
• Change the appearance of a document by applying various character and paragraph formats and effects with accuracy as observed by the Instructor.
• Successfully create columns and add a table as utilizing instructions from the Lesson Lab.
• Using the chapter exercise data, apply and remove formatting that affects entire pages, previews, and the printing of a document with 90% proficiency.

After this course, students will be able to create, edit, format, add tables to, and create graphic objects.

Word 2007: Introduction

Explore the various components of the Microsoft Office Word environment. Create and save a document. Edit documents by locating and modifying text. Format text and paragraphs by changing font appearance, setting tabs, adding borders and shading, applying styles, and creating lists. Create, modify, and format a Table. Add Visual Effects using symbols and special characters and insert illustrations. Proof documents to make them more accurate. Control page layout, apply a page border and color, add watermarks and headers and footers. Check spelling, grammar and word count. Enhance textual meaning using the Thesaurus. Customize AutoCorrect options.

Class targeted to: Those students comfortable with the Windows environment and needing to learn the basics of Word 2007 and those desiring to prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist in Word (MOS).
