Excel 2007: Introduction

Learning Outcomes:

• Successfully create a basic worksheet based on the concepts learned.
• Use the three-dimensional aspect of the Excel workbook environment by creating formulas that refer to cells on multiple worksheets as directed in the exercises.
• Correctly evaluate the layout of a spreadsheet and select the appropriate tool to change the format as needed as designated in the Lesson Lab.
• Describe the multiple methods for manipulating multiple worksheets in a workbook with 90% accuracy.

In this one-day class students will create, edit, format and print basic worksheets in Excel. This course helps prepare the student for certification as a Microsoft Office Specialist in Excel.

Excel 2007: Introduction

Explore the User Interface and the Ribbon. Navigate and select in Excel, obtain Help, enter data and save a Workbook. Customize the Quick Access Toolbar. Create basic formulas and calculate with functions. Copy formulas and functions. Change the appearance of worksheet data by using a variety of formatting techniques. Search for data in a worksheet and spell check a worksheet. Modify fonts, add borders and color to cells. Position cell contents and apply cell styles. Format worksheet Tabs. Set print options. Manage worksheets in a workbook. Manage the view of large worksheets.

Class targeted to: New users to Excel and/or spreadsheets and those wishing to understand proper spreadsheet building concepts, basic formula building, and formatting.
