During this 5 day class students will learn the basic knowledge about implementing NetWare and using its management tools.

* Implement Queue-based, NDPS, Novell iPrint and Resolve problems

Foundations of Novell Networking

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: Identify the features and operating system components of netware and how it works with other operating systems. Prepare the existing network and designated computer for installation of NetWare. Use server console commands to manage NetWare. Use configuration files and identify the utilities to remotely manage NetWare. Install the novell client, log in to eDirectory and the workstation, set client properties. Identify Directory Services Basics and manage User Objects, identify the flow and design of the eDirectory Tree. Troubleshoot eDirectory security. Use login scripts to configure the user environment. Use ZENworks for desktops to configure the environment. Work with Queue-based printing,

NDPS printing, iPrint Printing and resolve network printing problems. Evaluate NetWare file services. Create traditional and NSS volumes, access volumes through mapped network drives. Design a network file system. Identify how to back up and restore NetWare systems. Implement Novell iFolder. Identify the Protocols used for sending and received Email, understand message flow in a GroupWise system. Create post office users and objects. Secure your network and protect against viruses. Install and configure an FTP server, look how viruses affect Web services. Learn the purpose and function of a Web Portal.

Class targeted to:

* Designed for those who are somewhat experienced in networking, althought not necessarily using Novell products.

Prerequisites:

* CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent knowledge OR Course 3003: Fundamentals of Networking.
