| Adobe Illustrator Level 1 Learning Outcomes: • Utilizing the information provided by the Instructor, successfully create a logo using simple shapes and graphics. Learn to create illustrations, logos, advertisements, or other graphic documents. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: Create a new document, customize the workspace, draw basic shapes with the Shape Tools and draw basic freeform shapes with the Pencil Tool. Format and manipulate objects. Draw a logo using simple shapes, draw paths with the Pen Tool, format an object’s Fill and Stroke, and manipulate shapes and group objects. Apply spot colors, and apply graphic styles. Apply gradients to type and apply an envelope to type. Flow type on a path. Place and position body type, format type with Styles, fix spelling errors, insert typographic characters. . Import a graphic, align and distribute objects and wrap text. Class targeted to: Graphics designers, or people transitioning into a design job or taking on design responsibilities. Previous experience with Illustrator is not necessary. Prerequisites:
Windows: Introduction or equivalent knowledge and some graphics design knowledge would prove helpful. Adobe Illustrator Level 2 Learning Outcomes: • Successfully create a Vector version of a Raster Graphic as directed in the Learning Lab. This second day will help you to delve more deeply in to the complexity of Illustrator, creating robust illustrations that go beyond those you could create using only the basic tools. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: Draw with advanced object drawing tools and dynamically change their settings. Work with the Pathfinder Commands, create symbols, create compound paths, organize objects with layers, offset paths, custom pattern brushes, modify global colors and apply effects. Open Layered Photoshop Documents, manually trace raster images and auto-trace raster images. Learn to simplify paths, create clipping masks and 3D effects, create blends and share graphic styles. Convert colors to Web-safe colors, create slices and export Web graphics. Discover when to use color management and how to set up color management. Learn the nuances of outputting documents. Class targeted to: Graphics Designers or those transitioning into a design job or taking on design responsibilities. Prerequisites: Windows: Introduction and Illustrator CS3: Level 1.
