Microsoft SQL Server: System Administration

After this class students will be able to:

Understand the capabilities of Microsoft SQL Server. Identify the requirements for installing SQL Server. Install and troubleshoot SQL Server. Design, create, and manage databases. Create and manage tables. Use Access to connect to an SQL server. Identify the security features of SQL Server. Create and assign login IDs. Implement statement and object permissions. Design a security strategy. Learn about data transfer and bulk transfer. Design a strategy for monitoring SQL Server and use the monitoring tools. Plan and perform a backup; design your backup strategy. Identify methods to restore databases, then restore databases and transaction logs. Recover system databases. Configure SQL Server to send mail. Define SQL operators. Manage jobs and alerts. Design, implement, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot replication. Create a Web page.

Prerequisites:
