  • Given a set of instructions in the Lesson Lab, accurately plan and implement a Group Policy strategy to centrally manage users and computers in an enterprise and deploy and manage software by using Group Policy in Windows Server 2003.

  • As directed in the exercise, efficiently implement sites to manage and monitor replication in the Active Directory service.

  • Utilizing criteria provided in the Lesson Lab, effectively plan the placement of domain controllers in an Active Directory directory service network.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: Explore the architecture and functionality of Active Directory, use administrative snap-ins to examine the components of Active Directory, and familiarize yourself with Active Directory design, planning, and implementation. Identify installation requirements for the Active Directory directory service and create a forest and domain structure by using the Active Directory Installation Wizard. Create and manage organizational units, delegate common administrative tasks, and plan the implementation of an organizational unit structure. Plan and implement user, group, and computer accounts. Plan and implement a Group Policy strategy to centrally manage users and computers in an enterprise. Deploy and manage software by using Group Policy in Windows Server 2003. Implement sites to manage and monitor replication in the Active Directory directory service in Windows Server 2003. Plan the placement of domain controllers in an Active Directory directory service network. Identify the purpose of each operations master role, how to transfer and seize operations master roles, and how to plan the placement of operations masters in the Active Directory directory service.

* Those who are either employed or seeking employment as a systems engineer in medium, large, or enterprise organizations or who are preparing for the MS Certification exam 70-294.

Prerequisites:
