  • Describe the types of toolbars and the Office Window Frame with 90% accuracy.
  • Customize the Word Interface with Word Options Dialog Box. Apply Styles and document Themes.
  • Correctly create Illustrations using Galleries as directed by the Instructor.
  • Successfully add Citations and Bibliographies according to the chapter exercise.

During this half day workshop, the student will learn components of the new user-friendly formatting, design, and authoring tools, improvements in document creation and distribution.

Word 2010 transition from Word 2003

Students will explore the components of the results-oriented interface by looking at the working with the Ribbon and its’ tabs. Work with options on Contextual Tabs. Use the Word Galleries. Customize the Word Interface with Word Options Dialog Box. Apply Styles and document Themes. Add visual effects and work with images. Add Building Blocks and build an Equation. Add Citations and a Bibliography. Use the Navigation Pane and apply Digital Signatures. Compare and inspect documents, perform a compatibility check. Save documents to the Web and Access documents from the Web and learn how to secure a document.

Class targeted to: Designed for experienced Word users who have or will be upgrading to Microsoft Office Word 2010.

Prerequisites: Experience with a previous version of Word, preferably 2003 or XP and some familiarity with the Internet. This course covers the commonly used new features for a typical user. Due to time constraints other more advanced new features are not covered in depth.
