This one-day, course is designed for existing Microsoft SharePoint site users who will create and manage a SharePoint site.

During this class students will:

Learn how to create, configure, and manage a SharePoint Team Site so that your team or organization can share information and collaborate effectively.  SharePoint content structures and configuration options are complex.  Site owners must understand what features, and content structures properly implemented, users will be able to securely share files, collaborate on documents, and access information they need, to work with their colleagues more effectively.  Learn to add document, asset, and wiki page libraries to sites and configure them.  Add and configure announcement, task, calendar, contact, and custom lists.  Create and implement custom forms.  Configure site settings, site search, and site navigation.  Assign permissions and access rights to sites, users, and lists and documents.  Configure content roll-up, and finalize site configuration.

Targeted Student:  This course is designed for individual contributors or departmental staff in a variety of job roles, such as administrative assistants, functional or operations managers with basic SharePoint skills and not necessarily IT tech professionals.

Prerequisites: SharePoint Foundation 2013: end user.

  • Accurately manage Archiving and Compliance as demonstrated by the Instructor.
  • Correctly test a workflow as shown in the Activity Lab.

This one-day course is designed for the administrator who needs to segment digital information, share information from external sources, archive records, and automate business processes.   You will learn how to create, configure, and manage a SharePoint site collection so that your team or organization can collaborate effectively.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Create and configure a site collection.  Administer site quotas, auditing, and backup. Configure the top-level site, including rag clouds, RSS viewers, and document sets.  Configure site collection metadata.  Manage archiving and compliance policies, and rules.  Plan, create, publish and test your workflow.   Configure search options and search for content and set alerts.

This course will help you prepare for Microsoft Office SharePoint 2013 Exam 77-425.

Class targeted to:   Designed for existing Microsoft SharePoint site collection administrators who will create and manage a group of SharePoint sites, add features at the site collection level, manage workflows, and implement records management features.

Prerequisites:  Windows 8 and Microsoft SharePoint  Foundation 2013: Site Owner or related knowledge.
