Learning Outcomes:

  • Successfully create, modify, save, and print a document using a publication design according to the directions in the Activity Lab. 
  • Given directions from the manual, correctly format text by adding tabs, indents, special characters, and automated formatting. 
  • Utilizing instructions in the Lesson Lab Insert and modify graphic elements on a page with 100% accuracy. 
  • Correctly add and modify rows, columns, text, and formatting in a table to display data on a page under the Instructors supervision. 

This one-day class will introduce you to an easy to use, flexible program for creating newsletters, brochures, business cards, postcards, flyers, and other items for print, email, and the Web.

Publisher: Introduction

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 
Learn the new interface and the basics of what Publisher can accomplish.  Create and save a publication template. Set watermark options, work with text and textbox objects, change color, work with tabs, symbols and special characters.  Discover the attractive new and improved photo editing features, insert, edit, zoom, crop, and recolor photos.  Learn the ways to create and manage a customer list for targeted emails.  Add interest to your graphs, charts or tables with table effects such as borders or fills. Use the Office Backstage feature for working faster to help you manage files and the data about the files adding feathers to its functionality.  Instructor tips and tricks will also be included throughout the day.

Class targeted to:   Students wanting to create professional quality publications. 

Prerequisites:  Should be familiar with Windows 7.

CEU:  Upon successful participation in class and completion of all exercises, participants may receive up to .7 CEUs for this class.
